2024-2025 Official Plan Review.
The Township of Chisholm Official Plan was adobted by Council in 2013. Since then there has been 2 amendments (North Bay Mattawa Source Water Protection and by-law 2021-07).
The goals, objectives and policies contained in the 2013 Official Plan are intended to guide the decision of public athorities and private interests for 20 years and is to be reviewed every 10 years. The plan is now past its 10 year mark and requires a review of the policy framework and encorporate the new Provincial Planning Statement as well all Planning Act Amendments such as:
• Bill 97, Helping Homebuyers, Protecting Tenants Act
• Bill 23, More Homes Built Faster Act
• Bill 108, More Homes More Choices Act
• Bill 109, More Homes for Everyone Act
• Bill 185, Cutting Red Tape to Build More Homes Act
The Township is required to hold public consultation sessions throughout the process to ensure all residents have a change to voice thier oppinions to Council.
